Agency Overview: The Safe Center LI, Inc. (TSCLI) is the leading provider of services to victims of interpersonal violence in Nassau County. The agency provides comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking. SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Hotline Services oversees the Department that provides the agency’s 24-hour hotline. This department responds to calls related to human trafficking, rape and sexual Assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. The Hotline Services includes the Police Project which makes calls to victims involved in a domestic incidents. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Residential Services.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program management and supervision of staff answering the 24-hour hotline and providing services including attending to walk-in clients, submission of Office of Victim Services applications and filing of Family Court petitions.
- Supervision of the Domestic Violence Liaison including collaboration with NCDSS and partnering agencies related to this position.
- Supervision of overall coordination of the Police Project by reviewing and tracking incident reports that are received daily. This includes assigning reports to staff to enter into the agency data management system as well as calling the victims in the report.
- Work collaboratively with the Nassau County Police Department and other local municipalities in relation to domestic violence incidents reports. This includes advocating with police departments as needed.
- Training and supervision of department staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Present at agency and community events as well as participate in internal and external committee work in relation to the hotline services.
- Updating and creating program policies and training manuals for hotline staff to utilize.
- Assessment and management of hotline services to align with trauma informed, client centered care and best practices.
- Management of the agencies client data base (EmpowerDB) as it relates to hotline services data entry and program reporting.
- Build upon and develop working relationships and procedures for how other agency departments interface with the hotline, police project and the domestic violence liaison.
- Writing grant proposals and funding reports as necessary.
- Purchases and manages the distribution of gift cards and reconciling petty cash,
- Participate in the management of the agency food pantry.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of interpersonal violence, trauma, staff supervision and program management-all preferred.
- On-call availability in rotation with other leadership staff to address non-business hour crisis and support of staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours and provide coverage if staff are not available to cover a hotline shift.
- The use of a car for occasional trips for meetings and other business-related matters.
- Overnight travel may be required to attend trainings.
- Must be COVID Vaccinated
Hours, Compensation and Benefits:
- Full-Time: 35 hours per week
- Salary $55,000 and an additional $2000 if bilingual.
- Compensation package includes, medical, dental and vision insurance along with a generous paid time off policy.
