Job Description
This posting is for case manager opportunities within the Eleventh Judicial Circuit's various divisions. The position is responsible for assisting the court with backlogged cases due to the pandemic. The work assigned will include a procedural review of court cases to advance case flow. The position responsibilities and duties may also include: acting as a liaison between the judiciary and other entities such as the Clerk of Courts, community-based service groups, and the parties and their attorneys, as well as providing case information to self-represented litigants and system staff, reviewing filings, case coordination and referrals to community-based services, managing and preparing cases for court hearings, maintaining record/filing system, scheduling hearings, and performing related clerical functions.
Successful candidates will be trained by court staff before being assigned and rotated through various court divisions as needed. These divisions include: Unified Children’s Court, Family Court, and Domestic Violence Court, where cases are high conflict in nature and involve families and children at risk; Civil Court, where the cases include all types of civil litigation including foreclosures and landlord/tenant matters; Probate Court, where cases involve guardianship and mental health; and Criminal Court, where the nature of the cases include violent and non-violent criminal offenses.
•Screens cases for compliance with statute, local rules, and administrative orders to assure completeness and readiness for hearing.
• Assists with management of judicial caseloads, reviews report of open cases to identify stagnant cases or cases needing attention, and flags issues for judicial review.
• Performs administrative tasks, such as preparing orders, documents, forms, and correspondences.
• Monitors case progress and provides data to report efficient case management.
• Monitors case processing reports to ensure case events comply with statutory/local practice timelines.
• Maintains daily case management statistics regarding volume and types of cases handled.
• Performs related work as required.
The position works under general supervision of a Program Coordinator.
This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work/onsite schedule as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.
Education and Training Guidelines
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of experience in an office or administrative capacity, or performing related legal or court-related professional work OR
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates an applicant’s proficiency in performing the job tasks.
o Master’s degree or paralegal certificate may substitute for one year of experience.
o Juris Doctor degree may substitute for two years of required experience.

Physical Demands:
Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to 10 pounds.
Special Comments
*This Other Personal Services (OPS) employment is paid hourly and works 40 hours per week, except for holidays. OPS/Variable hour employees may be eligible for insurance coverage. There is no paid holiday, sick, or vacation time.
